November in LTA 1

In the month of November, we have been learning and exploring through our pretend play space station. Students have learned in science and pretend play how things serve the same function even if a property changes. We have also practiced making observations about the weather. In math, we began our counting unit and practiced counting with stories like Bear Counts, Animals at the Zoo, and Ten Black Dots. Students had fun exploring numbers, counting out various objects, and counting to tell how many. In ELA we read Sky Pup Explores the Sun and A Sunny Day at the Beach as we worked to retell the stories and identify key details. We continued practicing letter identification as we worked on sounding out and building CVC words from the word families ed, em, en, and et. In Letterland we visited Golden Girl (g), Noisy Nick (n), Impy Ink (i), and Sammy Snake (s). In writing, we practiced sharing information about pumpkins, the seasons, and Thanksgiving. We are excited to wrap up the month visiting our Frankie Friends at Ravenscroft and having our class Thanksgiving celebration!
